The Client: A Global Luxury Real Estate Agency

Our client is a premier German real estate company with a presence in 1,000+ locations across 35+ countries. Specializing in premium residential and commercial properties, the company generated €1.24 billion in commission revenue in 2024.

To scale its SEO-driven lead generation, they rely on Autogen-generated pages, which automate content creation for property listings, agent discovery, and market insights across multiple geographic levels. These pages are critical for search visibility, user engagement, and conversion.

The Mission: Interim Product Manager

Our mission was to step in as interim product manager for the Autogenerated Pages team for six months, ensuring continuity while the existing PM was on sabbatical. The team is responsible for the automated creation of pages for selling, buying property, finding real estate agents, providing property price insights, and property valuation across various geographic levels (cities, regions, sub-localities, and countries). These pages play a critical role in SEO performance and lead generation across the entire network.

The team consisted of two front-end engineers, two back-end engineers, and an engineering lead. Additionally, we closely collaborated with an SEO expert and a PM focused on SEO and growth.

The Challenge: Managing Complex Content Migration & SEO Enhancements at Scale

With the existing Product Manager on sabbatical, the Autogen team required interim product leadership to:

  • Oversee a large-scale content migration across multiple international markets while maintaining SEO integrity.
  • Streamline team operations by improving backlog management, meeting structures, and ticket writing.
  • Optimize SEO performance, including interlinking, structured data implementation, and page enhancements.
  • Ensure weekly development releases, testing, and feature improvements.
  • Define a strategic roadmap for 2025, aligning product and SEO goals with company priorities.

Bringing Structure & Efficiency to the Team

  • Established a structured workflow for backlog management, sprint planning, and ticket writing, enabling smoother collaboration between engineering, SEO, and content teams.
  • Improved meeting organization and decision-making processes, ensuring transparency and clear priorities.
  • Provided immediate execution after a spontaneous request, structuring the work to drive impact from day one.

Driving Product & SEO Enhancements

  • Successfully supported the content migration for the Netherlands, Switzerland, Chile, Uruguay, Germany, Austria, and Spain, aligning all markets under a unified digital framework.
  • Optimized interlinking, making Autogen links more prominent and improving discoverability at the top of SERPs.
  • Led the Aggregated Rating Initiative, implementing structured data to increase CTR by up to 35%, enhancing Google search performance.
  • Resolved image display issues on agent pages, reducing complaints from license partners.

Enabling Long-Term Success

  • Documented the content migration process, including taxonomy, whitelisting/blacklisting, API usage (Swagger), and Storyblok integration, ensuring a smooth handover for future PMs.
  • Defined the 2025 roadmap, collaborating with leadership to establish key initiatives that drive SEO growth, content automation, and user engagement.
  • Conducted discovery and scoping for a new Agent Page structure, providing data-driven insights for future feature development.
