Product People Automated 2,000+ Landing Pages in 3 Weeks

About how we significantly improved user engagement by increasing viewability by 37% and transforming the development team to be product-led.

The Client: Memovida

Memovida is a modern, digital-first funeral home based in Germany with offices in Berlin and Munich. It offers nationwide funeral arrangements at transparent fixed prices, combining phone-based guidance with local partners for on-site services.

The Mission: Interim Product Manager

The founders of Memovida, needed to quickly establish Lebenszeit Vorsorge, a new sub-brand focused on funeral pre-planning in Germany. With no existing digital presence and an aggressive timeline, Memovida required experienced Product Managers who could:

  • Learn new tools from scratch (Webflow, Make.com) and execute quickly
  • Design and launch a complete brand identity, including logo, color palette, and visual assets
  • Build and deploy a content automation system - with a goal to enable content generation of 500 pages, we were able to generate 2101 unique, SEO-optimized landing pages
  • Deliver a market-ready website within approximately 3 weeks

The company's expectation was clear: establish an initial market presence with a professional website and an automated content generation pipeline that could scale across all German cities and federal states. This was a pro bono mission where Product People needed to demonstrate rapid onboarding, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution under extreme time constraints.

Our Main Quest: Launch a Scalable Digital Presence from Zero

Launch: Onboarded and Strategized in Week One

Memovida had no existing infrastructure for Lebenszeit Vorsorge. We jumped in quickly and established our foundation:

Foundation & Alignment:

  1. Industry & Competitor Analysis - Conducted a comprehensive analysis of key competitors (November.de, Bestattungen.de, Bestatter.de), evaluating visual language, branding strategies, content tone, market niche, sitemap architecture, and pricing models
  2. Tools Mastery - Learned Webflow and Make.com from scratch to execute the technical requirements
  3. Communication Rituals - Weekly check-in with agenda, decision log, status doc; async updates in Google Space

Explore and Conquer: Built Brand and Automated Content

We identified three critical problems and systematically addressed each:

Initiative 1 - Brand Identity & Website Creation

Problem:

Lebenszeit Vorsorge needed a complete brand identity that would differentiate it from competitors in the funeral pre-planning space while projecting professionalism and credibility.

Our Approach:

Starting from a completely blank slate, we built Lebenszeit Vorsorge's brand identity from the ground up. We began by analyzing three major competitors in the funeral industry in Germany, especially those with an ample internet presence, studying their color palettes and visual languages to understand the market landscape. This research revealed an opportunity to create a warmer, more approachable aesthetic that would differentiate Lebenszeit Vorsorge while maintaining the professionalism the industry demands.

With those insights, we designed a unique logo in Canva that balanced memorial sensitivity with modern approachability, selected contemporary typography that conveyed trust without feeling institutional, and established a complete visual system including curated stock photos and brand assets ready for both web and future social media use.

On the technical side, we made strategic decisions about scalability. We chose Webflow's AI builder specifically to ensure the client's non-technical team could maintain and update the site after our handover. We also architected a logical URL hierarchy—lebenszeit-vorsorge.de/stadt/[type-of-content]-[city-name] for cities and /land/[type-of-content]-[state-name] for states—that would support both user navigation and SEO performance across thousands of localized pages.

📚 Make.com: A visual workflow automation platform that connects apps and services to automate repetitive tasks. It uses a modular approach where each step in a workflow is represented as a visual block, making it easy to build complex automations without coding.

Initiative 2 - Stadt Landing Page Automation

Problem:

To establish market presence across Germany, Lebenszeit Vorsorge needed localized landing pages for over 2,000 German cities. Creating these manually would be impossible within the timeline, and generic templated content would hurt SEO performance.

What has been done:

  • Automation Architecture - Built "Vorsorge in Cities" workflow in Make.com that reads structured city data from Google Sheets
  • AI Content Generation - Leveraged OpenAI GPT-4 to generate SEO-optimized German content sections, including:
    • Introductory paragraphs with city-specific references
    • Consultation subheadings
    • Local burial options
    • Benefits of pre-planning
    • Frequently Asked Questions
  • Dynamic Localization - Ensured each page contained unique references to local personalities, cemeteries, historical significance, cultural landmarks, or well-perceived figures to differentiate beyond paraphrasing
  • Seamless Integration - Automated the pipeline to write content back to Google Sheets, exportable as CSV for Webflow CMS collection import
  • Result: Successfully generated and deployed 2,000+ unique, contextually relevant landing pages

Initiative 3 - Bundesländer Landing Page Development

Problem:

The 16 federal states (Bundesländer) needed distinct content that diverged from city automation to mitigate repetition and ensure sufficient differentiation for better search indexation.

What has been done:

  • Strategic Differentiation - Developed unique content components for state pages including:
    • Relevant quotes about funeral traditions
    • Regional cultural traditions
    • State-specific legal regulations for funeral planning
    • Compelling "Why pre-plan in [state]" messaging
  • AI-Assisted Development - Used AI to guarantee uniqueness and consistent formatting across all 16 pages
  • Manual Curation - Opted not to fully automate via Make to ensure higher quality and greater differentiation from city pages

Discovery Mini-Missions: Our Side Quests

As Interim Product Managers, we supported Memovida with additional initiatives:

  • Stock Assets Library
    • Identified need for consistent visual resources
    • Developed a library of icons, brand assets, and photos using appropriate commercial licenses
    • Ensured all assets aligned with brand aesthetic and color palette
    • Made assets suitable for the website and future social media initiatives
  • Make Automation Documentation
    • Created detailed 14-step process documentation for the "Vorsorge in Cities" workflow
    • Documented each OpenAI GPT module for future maintenance
    • Provided Google Sheets integration instructions
  • Handover Documentation
    • Prepared a comprehensive handover document with important resources, stakeholder lists, and next steps
    • Documented immediate next steps (order forms, CTA integrations, Calendly integration, final website review)
    • Created "Next Initiatives" plan for ongoing development
